Two Decades of Straight Razors and Straight Talk
Sun Lakes Barbershop has been cutting hair in the East Valley since 2004 — long enough to have cut the same regular's hair through three different hairlines. Here's who we are, what we believe about a good haircut, and why Sun Lakes keeps coming back to the same chair.

A Real Barbershop, Not a Trend
Sun Lakes Barbershop opened its doors in 2004, back when Riggs Road still felt like the edge of town and a fair share of our first customers walked over from the community across the street. We were never trying to be a five-chair mini-empire or chase whatever fade is trending that month — just a real neighborhood barbershop, the kind where your barber knows your name and how you like your neckline before you sit down. Twenty-plus years and roughly 30,000 haircuts later, that hasn't changed. The clippers are newer. The straight razors are the same style they've always been. And the shop still runs on the same idea: come as you are, take a seat, and let a barber who's done this a long time take care of the rest.
Every barber in our chairs is a licensed Arizona barber first and a craftsman by habit. That means real clipper-and-scissor technique underneath every fade, real straight-razor skill behind every neckline and hot towel shave, and the patience to slow down instead of rushing you out in nine minutes flat. We still do the things a lot of newer shops have quietly dropped — hot towel prep before a shave, a proper straight-razor finish on every haircut, an actual conversation instead of a scripted up-sell. It's old-fashioned by design. Sun Lakes has never needed us to be anything else.
No Guessing Games
We also think a barbershop ought to be easy to find and easy to understand — which is rarer than it should be. You shouldn't have to dig through a Facebook page or squint at a third-party booking app just to find our hours or what a haircut costs. So we built a real site with our actual address, our actual hours, and a full price list you can read before you ever pick up the phone. No "call for pricing," no surprise up-charges once you're in the chair.
If you're new to the East Valley — or you've lived in Sun Lakes for twenty years and just want a shop that treats you like a regular from your first visit — that kind of straightforwardness is the whole point.

Credentials, Not Claims
We don't collect star ratings on this page. Instead, here's what we can actually show you.
Unhurried Service
We don't run ten-minute clipper jobs. Every appointment gets a full cut, a proper finish, and a hot towel — no clock-watching, no rushing you out the door.
Transparent Pricing
Every price is posted on this site before you ever pick up the phone. No 'call for pricing,' no surprise up-charges when you get in the chair.
Senior-Friendly by Design
Senior cuts are priced as a real discount, not a footnote — with easy parking, patient service, and a pace built for a Sun Lakes schedule, not a rushed one.
What You See Is What You Get
Real photos of our actual chairs, tools, and storefront — not stock photography. Walk by, look through the window, and you'll see exactly what's on this page.

Built Into the Rhythm of Sun Lakes
Our shop sits on Riggs Road, an easy drive from Sun Lakes Country Club and the surrounding neighborhoods — close enough that plenty of our regulars fold a haircut into the same errand run as the pharmacy or the grocery store. Parking is a non-issue: pull in, walk straight to a chair, no circling a lot or hunting for a spot.
We keep classic working-week hours — Mon–Fri 8am–5pm · Sat 8am–2pm · Closed Sun — because that schedule still matches how most of our neighbors plan a week, whether that means squeezing in a cut before a tee time or making Saturday morning the standing haircut day. Family owned and operated, we're not going anywhere; the same shop, the same chairs, and mostly the same faces behind them, year after year.
- Family-owned and operated since day one
- Same barbers, same chair, every visit if you want it
- Classic six-day schedule built around a working week
- Walk in any time we're open — no app required
